ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

Through the methods developed by our artistic director, Ray Munro, we use meditative techniques to incorporate and move beyond the psychological underpinnings that have informed acting since Stanislavski. Will you see a difference on stage? Well, to paraphrase Stanislavski himself—no, but you’ll remember it longer.

In the four years since founding Foxrock -- named after the Dublin village where Samuel Beckett was born and raised-- we’ve been expanding our repertoire of Beckett pieces, which includes Footfalls, Krapp’s Last Tape and Ohio Impromptu, performed in one evening under the title Triptych. This show, produced by Boston%26apos;s Company One, had a very successful run at the BCA before travelling to Krakow, Poland for an international conference on arts and ideas.

Our production of Russell Davis’ touchingly eccentric comedy Appointment with a High Wire Lady, was first put up on its legs at the historic Katherine Cornell Theatre on Martha%26apos;s Vineyard, Foxrock%26apos;s home. The show was very well received here, as it was a few weeks later in Ireland at the Dublin Theatre and Fringe Festival.

Now it%26apos;s back to Beckett with his dark comic masterpiece, Endgame. Like most work of brilliance, Endgame, although written fifty years ago, seems to be particularly relevant to our chaotic times. In conjunction with our Endgame performances at Foothills Theatre, Clark University is hosting a Beckett symposium entitled, %26quot;Farewell to Farewell: Remembering Samuel Beckett.%26quot; *

Thank you for visiting our site, and I hope we%26apos;ll see you in the theatre.
